Winlink is a communication system used in amateur radio that enables radio operators to send and receive email over radio frequencies. It is particularly valuable for disaster response and emergency communication. Winlink allows users to establish connections in areas where traditional communication infrastructure might be compromised or unavailable.
In disaster scenarios, when standard communication channels are disrupted, amateur radio operators can deploy Winlink to maintain vital communication. The software supports both text-based and email communication, making it an effective tool for coordinating relief efforts, sharing critical information, and facilitating communication among emergency responders.
This training will include a classroom component as well as hands on with radios and gear.
