Welcome to the Santa Rosa County FL Citizen Corps site! Here, volunteers can learn about and join programs such as the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) to help prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and disasters in the community. If you’d like to learn more, you can click here to learn how to get started or fill out this form for more information. Both our CERT and ARES teams are led by the Santa Rosa County FL Department of Emergency Management.
CERT is a program that trains volunteers in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. ARES is a program that recruits and trains licensed amateur radio operators to provide communication support during emergencies and disasters. Both CERT and ARES play important roles in helping our community stay safe and prepared for emergencies.
