This year’s Rabies POD Exercise which will take place on Friday, September 27th, at Pensacola State College – Milton Campus.  Come in at the track entrance on Hwy 90, NOT the main entrance.   Here is a great opportunity to participate in this great point of dispensing (POD) exercise, emulating what we would do if we had an outbreak of a disease requiring mass prophylaxis of drugs to the population of Santa Rosa County, in addition to seeing some really great pets belonging to our fellow Santa Rosa-ians!!     Our local Santa Rosa County based veterinarian Dr. Summerlin and his team will be giving rabies shots to cats and dogs, and our part of the exercise will be dispensing cat and dog treats to the owners, which is the imitation of the prophylaxis part of the exercise – measuring how many people we can process in a hour’s time.
