DESCRIPTION:The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Department has requested our assistance with parking management for the upcoming Sheriff’s Rodeo\, scheduled for Friday\, March 13th and Saturday\, March 14th. Our responsibilities will include overseeing traffic flow and organizing parking during the event. There will be two distinct shifts available each evening\, and volunteers are encouraged to sign up for multiple shifts across both days. Additionally\, we will be staffing a CERT/ARES booth to promote our teams and distribute hurricane preparedness materials. If you are unable to participate in parking activities\, your expertise and talents are highly valued at the booth\, where you can support outreach efforts.

DESCRIPTION:Please click this link to signup to volunteer. \nGoing into its eighth year\, the annual End of Watch Memorial Ruck\, will continue its third year using a format that was started in 2022 titled “10-42”. 10-42 is a common radio code for “at home/out of service” or “End of Watch” with many law enforcement agencies. This code is often used at a fallen officers’ memorial service to mark the end of their watch. During this event\, the participants will carry a one-pound weight that bears the name of an officer who died in the line of duty in 2024 for one mile. We’ve been asked to have a volunteer available for first aid and any general assistance that might be needed.  Some of these shifts are longer\, if you can’t work the entire shift\, any help is appreciated.  We will not have a team captain onsite so you will need to be self sufficient.
