SUMMARY:Scratch Ankle Bike Race
DESCRIPTION:Please signup to volunteer using this link. \nWe’ve been asked to provide support for the Scratch Ankle Bike Race on March 16 in the northern part of Santa Rosa County (Munson Area.). We would like to have both an ARES volunteer with a mobile radio as well as a CERT volunteer for first aid.  Even if you don’t have a ham radio\, we have “go kits” that we can loan out for the event as long as you have your amateur radio license.  We do not have the exact locations of the aid stations as of yet\, but the race begins at Bear Lake Campground.  There will be 4 aid stations and the net control for race coordination at Bear Lake.  The length of time you will be needed will depend on the aid station you are posted at but\, worst case\, would be around 4:00/4:30 PM.

DESCRIPTION:When disaster strikes\, it can be a challenge to effectively mobilize\, organize\, and deploy resources needed to perform wide area searches. This course is an excellent training opportunity for any jurisdiction or agency that may face such an emergency. The course content applies to a vast number of critical situations\, including natural disasters or terrorist incidents. \nOnline registration via this link is required as seating is limited. \nYou will be instructed in practical search methods and skills so you can perform systematic searches over a large affected area. The training will include challenging exercises that mirror real life scenarios. SUMMARY:Munson Heritage Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Munson Heritage festival is a very popular event in the fall in Santa Rosa County. Santa Rosa County ARES & CERT teams have been asked to provide communications and first aid support at the annual Munson Heritage Festival at the Krul Recreation Area on Saturday October 14 and Sunday October 15 from 9A-5P.  Shifts will be in 4 hour blocks.  Water/hyrdation will be available at incident command.  First aid station and roving volunteers will need to have completed basic first aid certification & CPR/AED training.  Communicators will need to have their amateur radio license.  All volunteers will need either an amateur radio or GMRS radio. \nPlease click this link to signup to volunteer.
